KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Just days before Election Day, a Jackson
County man has filed a lawsuit challenging the location of a polling place at
the church of Emanuel Cleaver, the Democratic candidate in Missouri's 5th
Congressional District.The lawsuit filed Friday against the Kansas City Board of
Election Commissioners contends that having people vote at a church at which one
of the candidates is a minister is tantamount to electioneering. Cleaver's name
is on a sign in front of the church and his picture hangs on a wall
inside.
